So the news is, Gareth is taking the lead role in the musical Hair that is touring uk from 26th March '12. Know very little about this musical, having never seen it, but to say it is in the hippy era and has Vietnam connotations. Wonder how they will keep it up to the time now. Sounds like it is CamMac's production. Also good to hear Gareth say that his BBC3 Doc. will be aired about mid November. Plenty to keep us thinking and looking forward!

I saw Hair when it first came out in the 60's in Leeds with an old boyfriend, it was very controversial mainly down to the nude scene, but don't remember much about the story. The cast even came out into the audience, lights dimmed then off course but it was the first time anything like that had ever been done before and caused quite a stir, showing my age now LOL In fact quite a lot of the audience were also topless as it was the era of topless dresses. We have seen Gareth in a loincloth, I am wondering if they are keeping the nudity scene LOL The music is amazing in fact I have the album somewhere in my loft but nothing to play it on now. I'm very excited Gareth is doing this, he certainly believes in variety and following Gareth could never get boring.

Elaine, can you remember if Oliver Tobias was in that production, as I know he did do Hair in those times? He was a classmate of mine and I did go out with him. He was always in the lead role of the school dramas and musicals. He also was the Stud in the same film with Joan Collins and played King Arthur for a TV production. Don't really expect you to remember that after all this time, but it would be interesting if you did. Agree with you, Gareth does not bore us does he?!

Sue I see you went out with Oliver Tobias. I am curious to know what he was like. You didn't marry him then. LOL xx

I am sorry to say I don't remember who was in the production of Hair as it was so long ago, and I expect the northen show would have different people in to the the London version. But that name does seem to ring a bell with me though I haven't a clue why.

Elaine, he played Berger at the WE production, 1968. He went onto to do a lot of other stuff and works now more in the Swiss area, I think, he has Swiss parentage, from what I can remember myself. As I may have said, he was the Stud in that film with Joan Collins and TV stuff of a swashbuckling nature.
