I didn't get to see this programme until today, ahh wasn't he amazing, Gareth was so confident, so adorable, he is, one very special man, love him so much.

Simon CowellLike many of you I have never understood why he turned his back on Gareth ... BUT did he? Gareth said in his "Whatever Happened to Gareth Gates" documentary that they had parted on friendly terms, but now gone their separate ways. It was BMG who dropped Gareth not Simon, I think Simon's role is to recruit new talent to 19/BMG or whoever, may be SC had nothing to do with Gareth contract ending. Yesterday Gareth Tweeted that Simon Cowell was lovely, not how you would describe someone who had lost you your recording contract, may be all these years we have got it wrong. Simon obviously still thinks a lot of Gareth. Simon could have backed down really. He wanted Gareth to go in a pure Pop direction as he had been but Gareth didn't there was an argument over the last album between , Simon Cowel and Gareth. The finished album was Day and Night CD's if you remember and was mash up of the Pure Pop Simon wanted and the direction Gareth wanted. It confused people I think and Non fans didn't know what to make of it. They couldn't resolve the argument so Gareth parted from BMG, to follow his own heart. Simon could have bent a bit probably and then the outcome would have been different. Thats all water under the bridge and Gareth is doing just fine. Simon on the other hand may be regretting letting him go! He said he wanted him to win but wouldn't take a risk for him!!! BMG is just a collective trade name for yet another mash up of various companies, RCA, Sony,Ronagold, Simco which has just become Syco,which Simon owns and runs, 19, and many more , . Gareth was attached to the bit Simon owned and ran but collectively it came under the BMG umbrella. I'm don't think Simon saw Talent and realised Gareth's true potential when he was on Pop Idol, I think he saw £ signs. He said when he heard him sing he thought "Jackpot" £££ not "Superstar" if he had, he would of believed in him and not let him go. I think Gareth is better off without him and BMG, too much was on his image and not enough on his potential as an artist. It was always said "teenage girls will love him", yes there is no denying Gareth is gorgeous and cute but what they should have said is "people will hear him sing or play the piano, guitar and say WOW he is amazing", the teenage girls did love him and unfortunately a lot moved on, as teenagers often do. Now Gareth is having to start again still cute, even more Gorgeous but this time showing people how amazing he is as a singer and performer. |

I agree with a lot of what you say June, Simon only saw a pretty little pop idol, who would only last a short time. Gareth has proved not only that he is extremely talented and versatile, but also that he could be a huge success without Simon, and indeed has been!
I don't want to think badly of Simon, maybe he genuinely wants to lay the past to rest with Gareth, cos Gareth would never hold a grudge, he's too nice. If Simon wanted to work with Gareth again in some capacity, all I hope is that it is to Gareth's benefit. I have to say if I was Will, those remarks, no matter how true must have been hurtful for him, especially as they were splashed in just about every newspaper. Did he really have to say it after all these years?
