I WAS AT LEGALLY BLONDE YESTERDAY

YESTERDAY SAW US DRIVING TO WIMBLEDON FOR MY FIRST EXPERIENCE OF LEGALLY BLONDE. I WAS MEETING VALERIE, WHO HAS NOT SEEN GARETH SINCE 2010, WHEN WE TOOK HER IN OUR CAR ALONG WITH ELAINE AND VERA TO SEE LES MIS IN NORWICH.

THE TRAFFIC ONCE WE GOT NEAR TO LONDON WAS UNBELIEVABLE, ROAD WORKS AND SINGLE LANES EVERYWHERE, AND I WAS GETTING MORE AND MORE STRESSED, AS A JOURNEY OF 70 MILES , WHICH SHOULD HAVE TAKEN NO MORE THAN 1 AND A HALF HOURS, WAS IN FACT BECOMING CLOSER TO 3 HOURS.

ALL MY PLANS TO GO AND HAVE A RELAXED COFFE AND CATCH UP ON NEWS WITH VALERIE WENT OUT THE WINDOW, I ARRIVED 15 MINUTES BEFORE TIME, SO WE WENT TO THE LADIES AND THEN TOOK OUR SEATS. VALERIE WAS STLL BASKING IN THE EUPHORIA OF HAVING SEEN GARETH ARRIVE, AND GOT A PIC WITH HIM, I WAS DELIGHTED AS 2 YEARS SINCE THE LAST TIME IS A LONG TIME TO WAIT!

I MUST SAY I WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED. I HAD BEEN LED TO BELIEVE THE SHOW WASN'T GREAT, GARETH WASN'T CHALLENGED ENOUGH, THE WOMEN WERE SCREECHY ETC ETC.

MAYBE THEY HAD GOT THE SOUND JUST RIGHT AT WIMBLEDON I DON'T KNOW, BUT I WOULD DESCRIBE THE WOMEN AS ENTHUSIASTIC AND GIRLY. THE WHOLE THING WAS FUN FROM BEGINNING TO END, ESPECIALLY THE MALE POSTMAN WHEN HE CAME INTO THE HAIRDRESSERS.

GARETH MADE A VERY BELIEVABLE SARDONIC, COLD ,AND POWER SEEKING LAW STUDENT. HE CARRIES OFF AN ARROGANT ATTITUDE MANIFICENTLY! DOES IT MATTER THAT HE WASN'T STRETCHED? AFTER THE INTENSE ROLE HE PLAYED IN LES MIS FOR A COUPLE OF YEARS, HOW NICE IT IS FOR HIM TO HAVE FUN WITH A ROLE WHICH IS LIGHT HEARTED IN A MUSICAL THAT IS NOT TO BE TAKEN TOO SERIOUSLY. GARETH IS A FUN GUY, WE CELEBRATE THAT ON THIS SITE, AND I THINK HE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO ENJOY HIS WORK TOO. ;D

I THOUGHT FAYE BROOKES MADE AN EXCELLENT DUMB BLONDE WHO PROVED HERSELF AS A LAW STUDENT, AND A SPECIAL MENTION FOR JENNIFER ELLIS, ALTHOUGH HER PART WAS SMALL, SHE PUT VIGOR, AND ENTHUSIASM INTO HER PERFORMANCE, WHICH I ENJOYED VERY MUCH.

I WILL BE GIVING MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE SHOW IN MY BLOG WHEN I WRITE IT LATER, UNFORTUNATELY AFTER ALL THE RUSHING ABOUT, I HAVE BEEN LEFT WITH A BAD HEADACHE TODAY, AND AM NOT WRITING AT MY BEST AT THE MOMENT. SORRY EVERYONE!

AFTER THE SHOW WE WENT TO WAIT FOR GARETH. THERE WAS A GROUP OF FANS WHO SAID THEY HAD TRAVELLED FROM YORKSHIRE ESPECALLY. I WAITED UNTIL THEY HAD THEIR TURN, THEN GARETH SAW ME AND HELD HIS ARMS OUT BLESS HIM, HE KNOWS I AM SHY.

I GOT MY PROGRAMME SIGNED AND A PIC, THANK YOU MALCOLM FOR TAKING IT. I KNOW VALERIE ALSO TOOK ONE ON HER MOBILE, BUT DUE TO MY LACK OF KNOWLEDGE, I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO DOWNLOAD IT ONTO MY PHONE. SORRY GUYS!

OUR JOURNEY HOME WAS SHORTER, WE WENT A DIFFERENT WAY. WE ARE BACK THERE ON TUESDAY EVENING, KEITH AND I THIS TIME , BLESS HIM, SO WILL FIND ANOTHER ROUTE AND LEAVE MUCH EARLIER.

Thanks for your lovely report Carol glad you enjoyed the show after other peoples conflicting reports of Screeching girls and Gareth not being challenged enough. I agree with you saying "Does it matter that he wasn't challenged enough" this was more of a fun role for him and something he wanted to do.

Love the pics too, Am sure Keith will enjoy the show when you go again i hope this time your jouney doesn't take as long

I thought I would use the same thread to quickly post my other report and pics of last night.

We went a different way this time, but the traffic wasn't much better. We hadn't planned to make a day of it cos we had to leave our dog at home, and it's not fair to leave him that long.

We arrived with time to spare, and after making sure that Vera wasn't standing around waiting, went to find our seats. She was there, bless her, although we hadn't planned it, we had seats next to each other, as I only found out the other day, she was going that day.

Something very funny happened on the way. I was bursting to go to the loo, and the only ones open were in pubs. I was also wearing some shoes, where the left one was kiling me, so I hobbled out of the car, and Keith took pity on me, grabbed my arm and steered me into the pub.

After we came out of the loos, the barman approached, clearly intent to make sure we were not just using their facilities whilst passing through. I was horrified, but Keith kept his cool, and asked to see the menu, apparently it was steak night, and after quickly studying it, informed the barman we just had to go and pick up someone else and would be right back.

As we exited the pub, it had just been raining, the underneath of my shoe slid, and I crumpled to an undignified heap outside the door, taking Keith with me. Luckily, although I grazed my knee and laddered my tights, no other harm was done. We couldn't stop laughing when we got up, and we did wonder what they must have thought of us. Needlesss to say, we did not go back to the pub later.

I enjoyed the show even more this time, it is very funny, and Keith liked it too. I couldn't believe he liked the second girl friend of Warner more than the first in the role. But then we all have different ideas.

There was a huge crowd waiting to see Gareth, lots of young girls, all excitedly clamouring. I was planning to stand at the side and watch, I love to see how Gareth reacts with his fans, it's lovely, but he spotted us when he came out, and Keith took a pic of Vera as well as Mick, just in case it didn't come out. It was funny cos after they had posed, Keith said to Gareth. " Could you put Vera in your arms again, I want to take a pic." and like a robot, Gareth did just that.

Then it was my turn, I am so lucky to have seen him twice in one week, and get 2 pics, I am so happy. This will have to last me until Dec and the panto now.

We then moved out of the way to let others have a turn, and when we left, Gareth was surrounded by women ;D

Our journey home was only just over an hour, Leo was delighted to see us, so we sat up until 1-30am making a fuss of him, cos he had been so good whilst we were gone.

Hi Debbie, I wonder if you could reduce my pics with Gareth down? The one of me I don't like, but if it's smaller, it might not look so bad. Gareth is gorgeous though, and I thought the others might like to see that.
