This is a short report about the show as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone going to Manchester on Thursday
It was wonderful to have Gareth up here in Bradford once again. I went to the show with my friend Karen, we arrived just before 7 and went for drink in the bar and then I bought my programme. At the beginning they announced the singers as they came on stage, and throughout the show sometimes they were announced and sometimes the previous performer would introduce the next act. A couple of times when JOJ came on he said a few words and had a bit of banter with the audience.
In Act One Bradford were treated to an extra performance by Gareth which he sang with the kids from the Gates Academy, he sang “Close Every Door” which was beautiful, the kids were fantastic and so cute.
The show was amazing and I was delighted Gareth sung several songs, some I haven’t heard him sing before.
After the show we headed for the stage door there were a lot of fans waiting but there was no pushing and shoving they were all stood around in little groups, many fans had autographs and photos with the others stars. There was a girl stood near the door and she shouted "he's here" and you could feel the excitement and hear the ahhh gasps but she was joking There were also several children from the Academy waiting for Autographs and Photo with the Stars.
When Gareth came out I waited for a while and let others go first as there were a lot of people, after a while it was obvious Gareth was going to stop and see everyone so as the crowd got smaller I went up and Gareth gave me a hug, signed my programme and I had a photo.
I met Sharon with her daughter Kimberley they had driven up from Berkshire. Sharon said it was her daughter who was the fan but she seemed pretty smitten to me she showed me some photos from the festival on Saturday. I asked if she was having a photo with Gareth she said she was too old …"too old" … she was at least ten years younger than me, anyway no one is “too old. Gareth had finished seeing everyone and was about to head back in so I called to him and he came and had a photo with Sharon, Karen took it for her I hope it came out .
