Football fans missing their weekly fix of the beautiful game can look forward to seeing some big names from the world of sport at Madejski Stadium
David Seaman, Ady Williams, Ossie Ardiles and Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock are on the team sheets for The Big Match on Saturday, May 31.
Celebrity spotters will also be kept happy with the likes of Suzanne Shaw, Matt Evers, Gareth Gates, Michelle Heaton and Danyl Johnson also making an appearance.
The big fun fundraising day is fast approaching and organiser Neil Humphries is urging people to buy their tickets now.
Teenager fundraiser's £3,000 challenge for The Big Match
He said: “It really is a family fun day because £7.50 will include everything, including a bouncy castle, we’ve got the Premier League trophy, football rodeo, Feral the Fox and Star Wars Storm Troopers as well as watching the game.
“At £7.50 it’s well below the price of many other attractions, so there should be something for everyone.”
The kids’ session is taking place on the pitch before the main event, when youngsters aged from five to 15 will receive tips and advice from professional coaches and footballers.
The match will kick off at 2.30pm with big names from the world of sport and entertainment, including the Dancing on Ice duo Suzanne Shaw and Matt Evers.
The latest signing is singer, actress, TV personality, personal trainer and glamour model Michelle Heaton.
Before the big day, Wear Your Sports Kit to Work Day is being held next Thursday with schools and businesses encouraging their pupils and staff to wear their team’s colours for a small fee.
The Big Match bus will be touring the area visiting those organisations taking part in the event and collecting team photos.
The aim of the day and related events is to raise cash for The Brain Tumour Charity and Action For Children. About £65,000 was raised for the two causes last year and organisers are hoping to top that this year.
Call the tickets hotline on 0844 249 1871, visiting www.thebigmatch.co.uk or from the Madejski Stadium ticket office.
