A new name on Hemel Hempstead’s nightlife scene is hoping to offer its clientele something a little different – with a new line of theme nights and celebrity visits.
Reality TV talent show debutant and noughties popstar Gareth Gates will be singing a mix of old and brand new tunes at Verve on Marlowes next Friday, March 6.
Lucky clubgoers will be able to purchase meet and greet passes to get up close and personal with the formerly spiky-haired celeb who was discovered on Pop Idol, and is now better known for pantomime performances and TV work.
But fans should hurry, because tickets are selling fast.
Verve opened in the town centre last July and focuses on a more upmarket, stylish offering for revellers – with a stricter dress code and over 21s entry policy.
The venue’s marketing manager Ryan Pennell said: “Things are going really well for us, we have got a nice crowd which was always the plan with Verve.
“We are now going down the avenue of booking some acts because it’s nice to be able to bring some big names to Hemel. It will help us get more well-known by having celebrities come through.
“Having live singing brings more entertainment which is what we need in the town really – it has always been the route we wanted to go down.”
Gareth’s visit will be followed by a dance-themed night featuring electronic outfit N-Trance the following Friday, March 13.
The group are best known for their 1995 chart hit Set You Free and will feature as part of a 90s ‘revival night’ at Verve.
Standard tickets for Gareth Gates cost £10 per person, with a limited number of meet and greets still available at £15 each. Doors open at 8.30pm
