Showbiz golden couple Faye Brookes and Gareth Gates enjoyed a sparkling night when TV chef Gino D’Acampo toasted guests in person at his Manchester prosecco bar.
Guests at Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant were treated to a taste of celebrity glamour with their Friday night fizz when the UK’s favourite Italian chef himself popped in to visit.
Coronation Street favourite Faye, who plays Kate Connor, and her Pop Idol boyfriend Gareth attended the launch party at his Manchester Corn Exchange restaurant, where Gino mingled happily with delighted guests, posed for photos and signed copies of his books.
Italy’s time-honoured tradition of aperitivo - a few pre-dinner drinks and snacks - is making itself at home in Manchester as an alternative to the conventional happy hour.
And the celebrity chef hosted aperitivo time from 4pm to 6.30pm, when fans could swing by to meet him and enjoy a glass of bubbly and some cicchetti on the house.

Guests sampled authentic Italian cicchetti along with 10 different kinds of prosecco.
And it looks like after launching his new prosecco bar, serving more than 40 kinds of fizz and fine wine, inside his restaurant last month Gino will be a busy man, planning two more new restaurants this year.

The openings, in Liverpool and Harrogate, will follow on from the hugely successful launch of his restaurant brand Gino D’Acampo My Restaurant in Manchester and those in London’s Euston station and Leeds in 2016.
He is also planning to open more pasta bars and restaurants in major cities and travel hubs in the UK and internationally.
