When the Lichfield Gig was cancelled I decided to go to Poole instead, but then everything seem to go wrong. When I bought my tickets they never arrived, I rang Mr Kyps and was told my details were on the computer but my tickets hadn't been processed, then after another week still no tickets,I rang again and they still hadn't been posted to me, another ten days passed and I still had no tickets. Mr Kyp said it would be ok for me to get in without tickets as he had made a note that I had paid for two tickets, but I was very nervous about going nearly 300 miles to a gig I had no tickets for and all I kept thinking was WHAT IF?
Also two weeks before the gig I dislodged a disc in my back and was in agony and didn’t know how I was going to travel or stand at the gig, and on top of everything it gave heavy snow for the night before I was going ... was someone trying to tell me something?
Then the tickets finally arrived on Wednesday, my back was getting better but still not right and when I got up early Friday morning there was only about 1 inch of snow
We left home at about 7.30 to get to Leeds, I was in a bit of discomfort on the train but I made it to Poole. We arrived in Poole at about 2.30 so had time to rest my back and get something to eat before the gig. I thought Mr Kyp had said the doors opened at 6.30 and he had told me if I got there early I could get a seat (in case I was unable to stand with my back) as there were only a few seats. We were there early but the doors didn't open into the gig until 7.30/7.45, I couldn't believe I had stood in the foyer for over an hour and my back was sore but ok, I no longer had the stabbing excruciating pain I got when standing, walking for too long. I think the train had put my disc back into place.
There were quite a lot of young girls waiting that had come to see "Reconnected" I asked if they were going to stay for Gareth and some said they didn't know! I was having a joke with them saying "You can't go before Gareth comes on"
While waiting to go in Elaine, Brian and Val arrived and a bit later Inge (Khelda) arrived with her daughter, after many years of chatting on the boards it was lovely to finally meet you both.
Gareth came on about 9.15/9.30 OMG watching Gareth perform up close was amazing there was no barrier no gap we were second row right in front of Gareth on stage. Gareth performed for over an hour, he wowed the crowd song after song he was fantastic.
Gareth sang 3 Acoustic songs and the rest were ROCK!
Summer of 69
Somebody Told Me
Valerie
Don't Stop Me Now
Acoustic Anyone of Us
Acoustic Angel on My Shoulder
Acoustic Someone Like You
Sweet Child of Mine
Mr Brightside
Livin’ on a Prayer
Your Sex is On Fire
Sunshine ( Upbeat Remix version)
Spirit in the Sky
(there may have been more)
Then for an encore he sang
Here I Go Again
Mustang Sally
There is no pain killer like adrenalin, Wow! Gareth as always blew me away with his singing and his performing and he looked amazing too.
After the gig Elaine asked if Gareth was coming down as 'Reconnected' were doing a signing for their fans. The guy came back to us and said Gareth knows you guys are here and said he will see you in about 15 minutes, we stood around and then noticed this guy taking a few people at a time back stage so we joined the people waiting and soon got to go back stage to see |Gareth, to save time for Gareth as there were quite a few waiting Elaine, Val and I went together. Gareth greeted us all with a beautiful smile and a hug bless him. There was a lady with him I think from the venue and asked if I would like her to take a photo and I said yes please but she wanted to take us all as a group to save time, I think she was keen to get rid of us (everyone not us personally) we chatted to Gareth for a short while and at one point Gareth was chatting and the lady kept saying I think we should move on now and for some reason none of us could hear her  well I mean how rude to interrupt when Gareth was speaking  there were still quite a few people to see Gareth after us and I bet he saw everyone bless him. I did wonder why Gareth didn't come out as it would of been a lot quicker for him it took a lot of time to lead people back stage and then back again, but it was a lot more personal seeing him with just the 3 of us there.
I had such a fantastic time I am so pleased it all worked out and I never thought we would get to see Gareth after a gig like this so that was an added bonus and a perfect end to a fantastic evening.
Sorry these aren't very clear
