I got up at 5am and left home at 7, got a taxi to the station where I was meeting my sister and my friend, my sisters train was delayed so we had to wait for her before going onto Leeds, we got to Leeds at 8.25, but when we arrived there were no trains to Hull, we had to get a train to Selby and then a coach to Hull. We arrived in Hull about 10.We got to the shopping centre and Ann was already there Peter had gone for a wander around the shops and there was a lady called Fiona also there. Setting off early had paid off we were right at the front and only a few feet from where Gareth would be. Now we had a two hour wait 
but it soon passed.
When Gareth first came on he presented the prizes to the winners of the Mothers Day competition and then it was “Show Time” Gareth first set was 30 minutes and he sang seven songs, even though he sang songs I had heard him sing many times before it was still magical, there is something about hearing him sing live that makes me just melt. Heaven was my favourite that day I wish I had recorded it Gareth sounded so beautiful I could of cried and being so close was amazing. Every song was fantastic. There was a young girl behind me on the phone and she said to whoever it was “I am right in front of Gareth Gates I can’t believe it, yes Gareth Gates ..... I feel sick
I am so excited bless her. Gareth got Missy to come on to the Stage to say Hello to everyone, but she was too shy bless her, Gareth said she's shy like her daddy then he started singing Spirit In The Sky with Missy in his arms, after a short while he told Missy to say bye bye and she waved at everyone it was so sweet. When Gareth came to the audience and asked people to sing during Spirit In The Sky there was one girl who was very good and he told her your better than me After the first set there was a Meet & Greet in a room behind the stage, we all queued up and I saw Wendy, Suzanne and Missy but didn’t get to talk to them. When we got to Gareth I handed him a flyer to sign and he looked up said hello and then got up and came round the table and gave me a hug, bless him then signed the flyer for me and there was a lady there taking photos for people, I had a photo and another hug my sister and friend weren’t going to have a photo but Gareth recognised my sister and said hi and put his arm around her to have a photo and then my friend too. We then went back to the stage and I was pleased to get back to the front spot. Gareth ran over with the Meet and Greet as there were so many people wanting to see him and sadly there were a few people that didn't. get to see him
Gareth then came back for the second part and it was as fantastic as the first and when he sang “Your Sex is on Fire” he went back to the girl who had sang before that was really good and she sang again and she was brilliant, she had a really powerful voice.
