As Saturday was my birthday I was more than excited to be celebrating it by going up to York to see Gareth. Thank you everyone for your lovely birthday wishes.
I went with my daughter Beth and we caught the 9 45 train arriving in York around 11 30 am.
We went to get some lunch and had a browse round the shops before going to find the Theatre.
My report is only short as we unfortunately did'nt get to see Gareth after the Show. What happened was that there were a couple of techinical hitches and the curtain came down twice while things were being fixed which resulted in the Show running late. It was 5. 30 pm when we came out so that did'nt give Gareth much time before the evening Show. There was a big crowd of people waiting at the Stage door and someone said that Gareth had gone out through th e front foyer to get something to eat. In any case we waited an hour and a half but he did'nt show up. Beth asked several of the cast who were coming and going throught he Stage door if they would ask Gareth if he would come down just for a couple of minutes. There were only a handful of us left by this time but either he did'nt get the messages or he decided not to come out .
However, I still had a wonderful time and thoroughly enjoyed the Show. It was fantastic. Gareth was on the Stage for most of the Show even though he only sang one song and he looked amazing!!! It was light hearted and very funny and I thought Gareth was brilliant. I had a great day, just a little disapointed not to have met him. But there is always Boogie Nights!
